I’m back with another month of Work It: 12 Months, 1 Pattern, No Repeats!  Another 5 Out Of 4 Patterns Diane Jogger made.  Another gorgeous Sly Fox Fabric sewed up.  Another hole in my closet filled!  Plus, a cute matching top, in even more amazing Sly Fox Fabrics.  Who can resist this?

This month I am stepping up a little bit from the super casual jogger, but keeping it comfy as hell!  I also decided to ease into hacks, and stick pretty close to the pattern and make capris.  I used luxuriously soft double brushed poly, which I totes got the last of.  (You can sign up for restock alerts though!)  Good thing Sly Fox has some of the most gorgeous prints and solids to choose from!  You can make it your own with florals, or even snakeskin!  Go to town.  If you’d like this same look, check out the plaid section and enjoy falling down a rabbit hole of delight.

Obviously, I used the same pattern, with all the grading and personal adjustments from last month.  Lots of steps saved. :) This month, I used the capri cut line with the knit waistband.  I’m serious about the comfort here.  I couldn’t JUST make a different option included in the pattern though.  I had to take them one step further and add back pockets!  MORE POCKETS FOR ALL!!!  Even if it involves some serious fussy cutting. You can read all about it in this month’s Work It blog.

Now, this plaid is too gorgeous to detract with another pattern, so I pulled this gorgeous mustard modal jersey from my stash.  The mustard is currently sold out, but be sure to check out all the gorgeous colors still available.  I picked this up in the pre-order and could not decide what to do with it.  (I don’t think a desire to wrap myself in it and nap counts.)  It compliments this teal so well and I have been wanting a Knot Your Average Shirt since I made one for my sister.

This modal is heaven!  It is soft and flowy, as I expect from modal.  But thick enough that it doesn’t feel flimsy.  The recovery is ridiculous!  It was lovely to work with and I’m so glad I jumped on the pre-order.  It is absolutely perfect for my take on this knot tee.  I mostly made it according to the instructions, but just couldn’t leave it quite alone.  The outcome is exactly what I was hoping for!

I hope you’ll join me over at sarcasticsewist.com to follow my 2019 blog series, Work It: 12 Months, 1 Pattern, No Repeats!, where I sew up 5 Out Of 4 Patterns Diane Joggers once every month in a new way, with a different fabric from Sly Fox Fabrics! I’ll be tackling many of the options included in the pattern as well as small (and not so small) hacks, in different types of fabrics to create 12 unique bottoms, from shorts to pants and some fun extras thrown in, just for fun.

Stephanie Troemel learned to sew from her grandmother when Stephanie was a little girl. She loves a good challenge, like pattern hacking, equally as much as she likes day-to-day sewing. When Stephanie isn't sewing, you can probably find her cooking, reading, or curled up with her kitten.
