Sew into Spring!
Hey there! I’m Sarah, and I’m new to the Sly Fox blog world, well I’m actually new to the entire blogosphere…please be kind ☺ I’m an occupational therapist and single mom to two crazy boys, Luke is 4 and Max is almost 2. When I’m not working my day job, making sure my boys don’t body slam each other too hard, or feeding the two monkeys (yes it IS my circus, they ARE my monkeys!), I’m busy sewing up all the pretty fabrics I can get my hands on.

Today I’m sharing a beauty from Sly Fox Fabrics, this GORGEOUS floral print double brushed polyester fabric. I don’t know about you, but 2020 was the year for lounge sets and cozy pullovers that could be paired with leggings and yoga pants for those “business on the top, party on the bottom” Zoom meetings we all love to hate. Fortunately, though, things my way are starting to open back up, which means my “appropriate to leave the house” wardrobe needs some updating. We’ve been back in church (with appropriate precautions in place ☺), and since I’ve lost almost 70 pounds in the last year and a half, I’m in desperate need of some new dresses. Enter Sly Fox Fabrics and this lovely print. As soon as I spotted this floral pretty on the site, I knew I wanted it for a spring/Easter dress that can be easily dressed up or down.

I used one of my tried and true dress patterns, the Katharine from Sonia Estep Designs. I used this on my last post, actually, mashed with Hannah for a cozy sweater. This time, I used the scoop neck, flutter sleeve, above the knee version for this pretty little thing. Double brushed poly is one of my go-to fabric bases for just about everything, so it was a super quick and easy sew.

This fabric design, Innocence in grey, has lovely mauve, burgundy, green, and ivory on a slate blue/grey background. This would be good for just about anything – maxi skirts, dresses, tops, even palazzo pants. Do yourself a favor and snag this beauty before it’s gone! Happy Sewing!
Xoxo
